Where can I complete my C6 Slewing Crane Ticket in Brisbane?

What are the prerequisites for the C6 Slewing Crane course?

No prior crane experience is required to enrol in the C6 Slewing Crane course, although completing a Dogging ticket first is often recommended. Students must be 18 years or older, have basic English literacy skills, and provide the required evidence of identity before assessment.

What does a C6 Slewing Crane Licence allow me to operate?

A C6 Slewing Crane Licence allows you to operate slewing mobile cranes with a maximum rated capacity of up to 60 tonnes. It may also cover certain related crane classes, such as lower-capacity slewing mobile cranes, non-slewing mobile cranes, vehicle loading cranes and reach stackers, depending on current licensing rules.

What is the difference between C2, C6, C1 and C0 crane licences?

The main difference is the maximum rated capacity of the crane. C2 covers slewing mobile cranes up to 20 tonnes, C6 covers up to 60 tonnes, C1 covers up to 100 tonnes, and C0 covers cranes over 100 tonnes. Higher classes generally include the lower slewing mobile crane classes.

Is there a government licence application fee after the course?

Yes. After successfully completing your assessment, you will need to apply directly to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland for your licence. A separate government application fee applies, and your application must be submitted within the required timeframe after assessment.
