The purpose of our dozer course is to provide students with the skills and expertise to safely conduct dozer operations across many different working environments within Australia.

Our highly knowledgeable trainers at Shamrock provide detailed training in a small class setting and in some cases on a one-on-one basis. This will give students sufficient time for their practical training, setting them up for real-world onsite dozer operations.

The training in its current form meets the criteria of the unit of competency requirements.

A dozer, also known as a bulldozer, is a heavy-duty tractorlike machine consisting of a blade on the front and a device similar to a claw on the back. The blade is used for pushing large amounts of material such as soil or rubble during construction and the claw to the rear is for loosening compacted materials. Wheeled dozers, crawler dozers and mini dozers are just a few of the different dozers available, making the dozer a versatile machine for any size job within the construction industry.

This unit of competency will teach students how to plan a job and prepare the site for dozer operations, conduct routine operational checks, operate a dozer in various work conditions, choose the correct attachment for the task in hand, relocate the dozer between worksites and finally maintain a clear work area.
