Training is delivered in person through classroom theory, worksite training, and practical scenario-based learning.

What are the entry requirements and how long is the course?

Do I need to pay an extra fee for my licence after the course?

Yes. After passing your assessment, you apply directly to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) for your DG licence card. A separate government application fee applies and must be submitted within the required timeframe.

Does Shamrock offer support for regional or interstate students?

Yes. Shamrock Training's trainers can travel anywhere in Queensland to deliver the course at the client's preferred location. Students travelling from regional areas or interstate are encouraged to contact us before booking to discuss available options.

Entry Requirements No prior experience or qualifications are required to enrol in the Dogman Ticket Brisbane.

Prerequisites Before assessment, students must meet the following requirements as set by Workplace Health and Safety:

- Be at least 18 years of age

- Be able to read and write basic English

- Have the physical capability to work outdoors while remaining on foot for approximately 6 hours

- Present three forms of identification including a photo ID

PPE Requirements The following must be worn on site. Students who arrive without these items cannot participate:

- Steel-capped safety boots

- Long sleeve shirt

- Long pants

- Sun protection hat

- Hi-vis shirt

- Hard hat

- Gloves

- Shamrock Training will provide all other required PPE.

What is the difference between Dogging and Rigging?

A Dogman applies slinging procedures to move loads, selects and inspects lifting gear, and directs crane operators when the load is outside the operator's line of sight. A Rigger performs all dogging tasks plus additional work including structural steel erection and hoist installation. In Queensland, you must hold a valid Dogman Licence before enrolling in Basic Rigging.

Statement of Attainment

After successfully completing the Dogman Ticket Brisbane, Shamrock Training will issue you a Statement of Attainment for nationally recognised unit CPCCLDG3001. This is recognised across all Australian states and territories.

Applying for Your DG Licence

With your Statement of Attainment, you are eligible to apply for your High Risk Work Licence (DG licence) through Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ). The DG licence is your legal authorisation to perform dogging work on any Australian worksite.

Licence Application Fee

A separate government application fee applies when applying to WHSQ for your DG licence card. This fee is paid directly to WHSQ and must be submitted within the required timeframe after your assessment date. It is not included in the course price.
