What are the prerequisites for the Intermediate Rigging course?
To enrol in Intermediate Rigging, you must have already completed Basic Rigging or hold a valid RB licence. Students also need to be 18 years or older, have basic English literacy skills, and provide the required evidence of identity before assessment.
What extra skills does Intermediate Rigging cover compared to Basic Rigging?
Intermediate Rigging builds on Basic Rigging by covering more advanced lifting and rigging tasks, including tilt slab rigging, dual crane lifts, demolition-related rigging, hoists, cranes, conveyors, dredges and excavators. It prepares students for a wider range of construction and industrial rigging work.
Can I move on to Advanced Rigging after completing Intermediate Rigging?
Yes. Intermediate Rigging is the required pathway before enrolling in Advanced Rigging. Once you successfully complete the Intermediate Rigging course and hold the required licence, you can progress to Advanced Rigging training.
Is there a licence application fee after the course?
Yes. After successfully completing your assessment, you will need to apply directly to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland for your licence. A separate government application fee applies, and your application must be submitted within the required timeframe after assessment.
