Who Needs an EWP Boom Type Licence?

Anyone operating a boom-type elevated work platform with a boom length of 11 metres or more as part of their work must hold a valid WP high risk work licence.

This applies to anyone operating:

- Telescopic boom-type EWPs

- Knuckle boom (articulated) EWPs

- Hinged or combination boom-type EWPs

- Any boom-type elevated work platform where the boom reaches 11 metres or more

The WP licence is a nationally recognised High Risk Work Licence - mandatory for operating these machines anywhere in Australia. It meets the standards specified in state and territory licensing requirements and applies across all Australian states and territories.
